TSMC will be in charge of exclusively manufacturing the A10 chip for the iPhone 7

A10 processor concept

Again we talk about the different components that will be part of the next iPhone. Yesterday we published information stating that Samsung Display will be the main person in charge of providing the Cupertino-based company with the next OLED screens that would hit the market together with the iPhone 8, since at the moment it is not expected that they will be implemented in the iPhone until next year.

But Samsung might not be the only one, rather Apple would have to rely on Foxconn (via the factory you bought from Sharp a few months ago) and maybe LG too. It is clear that the dependence on Samsung continues to exist and will be in the future.

As we have read in DigiTimes, finally it seems that the manufacturer TSMC will be in charge of manufacturing all the chips of the next iPhone 7, the A10, so that the Samsung company would be left out of this whole process. It should be remembered that last year, Apple used both companies to manufacture the A9 chip. It was then that the controversy over the highest consumption of the chip manufactured by Samsung jumped, a controversy that only served to write headlines, since the Apple guys assured that the consumption was practically the same, since the difference was barely 2%.

If the company has a problem manufacturing the chip, delays will begin to occur in the delivery of terminals, which in turn will reduce sales in the remainder of the year. It should be remembered that it would not be the first time something similar has happened. On the other hand, if you decide to rely on two manufacturers, Samsung and TSMC, the possible production problems that one of them had could be assumed by the other so that finally the production line hardly sees could see altered and there would be enough stock to cover the needs of the users.
