As we well know, the arrival of TSMC to the list of companies that manufacture hardware for Apple was a before and after for both companies. In this way the Cupertino company was able to significantly reduce its dependence on Samsung, its direct rival.
So much so that many users realized that the processors manufactured by TSMC gave better results in autonomy than those of the South Korean company. Now the benefit of this type of performance emerges, and TSMC expects a 10% increase in profits thanks to the brand new iPhone X.
This, however, is not the most relevant and simple data that we can obtain thanks to the Reuters analysis, and it is that if we read between the lines we would reach a fairly clear conclusion, Samsung is completely out of the manufacture of the processors of what is going to be the most eye-catching flagship Apple has ever made. All this could have a lot to do with the fact that Samsung has sold Apple its OLED panels for the iPhone X practically at a price of gold, forcing Apple to drastically reduce the profit margin, directly affecting its final price and the one that consumers will pay. Unfortunately screens of that quality have a price, perhaps we are beginning to understand why Apple prefers to continue developing LCD panels.
Be that as it may, TSMC foresees a significant increase in its benefits during the months of October, November and December, thus coinciding with the pre-sale and launch campaign of the iPhone X. However, this can also have its negative part, the stock of the iPhone X is going to be severely affected by this single supplier, since we doubt that it will be able to maintain the level of production that we would find with the support of Samsung when it comes to manufacture. Be that as it may, TSMC is going to benefit significantly from the iPhone X, and its processors have a more than proven performance on iOS devices.
