Tutorial: recalibrate the Home button if you have problems with it

Recalibrate home button

El start button, that button loved by many and hated by others, I would say that by the majority, it is one of the few buttons that an iPhone has. Unlike the volume and power buttons, the home button we press it a lot throughout the day and we are more likely to have problems with it, especially if our device is an iPhone 5 or earlier.

The button that usually gives the most problems is the original button, the one that had the curve inwards and the square with the rounded edges in white. The truth is that it was more pleasant than Touch ID, but it is also true that it failed more. Many of the problems related to the home button are hardware, which means that we would have to take it to an authorized store to have it repaired, but there are problems that are software and can be solved with a button recalibration Of start.

We will recalibrate the «home» button if we see that it has erratic behavior, such as it works out of time or that we have to press several times to make it work and we will do the following:

How to recalibrate the home button from my iPhone

  1. We open a pre-installed appFor example, the Clock application.
  2. We press the power button until you see the shutdown slider.
  3. We release the slider and press the start button until the app is closed going back to the Springboard.

And that's it. If the problem has been solved, you already have it. If the problem persists, the next thing you have to try is to force a restart. To force a restart, press the off button and the start button at the same time until we see the apple. If when you start you still have the problem, it is likely that the problem is hardware and you have to take it to the SAT.

Well, it worked for me, thank you very much.

In order not to use the button so much, the one with CYDIA can download the Activator.
For example, my Start button is to slide my finger on the bar down (where the time is) and multitasking is to hit the bar twice (where the time appears).

Good to know, but to avoid that (if you have JB done, of course) there is nothing like using Activator to emulate the Home button. The pressure that has prevented me from that application!

It works, I was doing badly since I installed 4.1 a year ago !!, sometimes it hit it once and it behaved like 2 other times on the contrary and usually late.

I've tried multitasking and quitting apps several times now and it hasn't failed me even once!

  36.   Joseph!! said

I already knew it .. but this function also does like the (Control Alt Del) when the iphone is stuck ... xD

  37.   pejota said

God, this has been good for me !! I believed that the button was almost broken, I had to press it too much! and sometimes give it more than once! THANK YOU! 😀

  38.   ANGELOT said

My problem from 2 days ago, is that the home button is stuck inside the device, I have to give it gently to remove it and so on continuously ... jooooo, over the apple warranty I ran out on August 10 ... .. I called and They have told me that the repair of said button is 240 eurazos .... They are freaking out?!?!?!?!? The question that the button gets stuck and gives me a bad milk, the truth is that I don't know what to do ... they have told me that here in barcelona there is a site called bcnphone that they do well for the price, I'll have to look at it.

  39.   Trojan73 said

Thank you very much, I thought that by using the home button so much he was dying.

  40.   David said

CONCLUSION: the iphone 4 home button sucks. Everyone was doing badly

PS: it is not that late to me, it is that sometimes he listens to me, sometimes he doesn't, sometimes he thinks I have a double pulse when he isn't. From the first day he came home to me.
Anyway, I think that the only thing this "trick" does is close all the programs and then the phone runs more fluidly, it's the same as turning it off and on that I and a friend do when you haven't turned it off for several days, because it starts to saturate even if you close all the programs.

    1.    gnzl said

no, it does not close any program nor is it the same as turn off / on.
      .
      Recalibrate button and software

      1.    David said

Well, the conclusion is that it is the first software failure of a physical button. Because I believed I was the only one and I am seeing in all the comments that the same thing happened to everyone and that it is solved that way.

  41.   Camilo said

Thanks, I was already worried about having to pass the phone under warranty. I love this page.

  42.   joan said

David I assure you that something does, I was wrong before and I do a reboot every week and now after the trick it works perfectly

  43.   Jose said

    SPECTACULAR !!!
I just got a new mobile phone, thanks to you. It is the only downside that I had with the iphone4 that the button did not double click well and many times I gave it once and multitasking appeared, but thinking that it would be a failure in the button or the connectors with dust, because I resigned myself and he tried to squeeze it more firmly.

I hope it is not psychological, but it turns out that I notice a great, great, great improvement!

  44.   Katshumoto said

As everyone says ………… .. THANK YOU FOR REVIVING MY IPHONE !!! and I thought it was a thing of the happy little button that was breaking ... thank you!

  45.   George said

Great!! It has worked. I thought it was something physical, but no!
    Thanks !!

  46.   homer said

Well, it still works the same for me (that is, sometimes it doesn't respond to me and I can't close the app) and I've already done it 3 times.

  47.   Juan said

Impressive, I was about to sell it because I was desperate for the button!
