Tutorial: save progress in your games when doing a full restore

Sometimes we are forced to do a complete restoration due to a problem that we are not able to solve or simply because the phone goes excessively slow and we don't know why.

Setting the iPhone as "iPhone of (your name)" usually carries these errors, and the best thing is set "like a new iPhone". But in this case we can lose photos, agenda, sms, advance of the games. Many of these things are not lost because they are synchronized with our Mac or PC.

Today I'm going to teach you cHow to save game progress so you don't have to start over. We just need an iPhone with Jailbreak (or an iPod Touch), SSH installed and some program to access the phone by SSH.

1. We enter the iPhone by SSH and go to the route

var/mobile devices/Applications

2. We find many numbered folders, each one is from an application.

We will have to enter each one until we find the game we are looking for, I for example will save my progress in the game Fruit Ninja.

3. Be careful, we don't have to save the folder Fruit.appBut everything in the numbered folder where we are (the save data are usually kept in Documents, but we copied it all to be safe).

We save all that content on our computer.

4. We restore.

5. We configure like new iPhone.

6. we do it again jailbreak (we install SSH).

7. We re-download our game (now we will not have the previews).

8. We access the same folder by SSH:

var/mobile devices/Applications

We will find many fewer numbered folders, we look again in which of them is the game in which we want to recover our saved advances.

9. We overwrite the information that we had guarded

10. Now we just have to open our application and continue enjoying.

Hello, good tutoring first thing. But I wanted to add that we can use a program on the iPhone called AppLinks, when we run the program the update symbol appears at the bottom left, if we give it it will create a folder called AppLinks (var / mobile / AppLinks) with a link To the applications that we have installed, each link bears the name of the application so it takes us directly to the numbered folder of the corresponding application that Gnzl commented.

    A greeting.

Chronus I think is only valid for 2.x firms, I like AppBackup better, available in Cydia for free. It makes a backup of all the apps in the Appstore and then you just have to save the AppBackup folder created in var / mobile / library / preferences on your computer. To restore the data after the jailbreak is very simple: download the application again and in the previous path, copy the saved folder again, open the application and give restore, in one minute, all the recovered data, super easy !!! Greetings!!!

The process is much easier with the "Chronus" utility found in Cydia.

I use Chronus from firmware 3.x without problems. When I upgraded from 3.1 to 3.2 I used it. I have not gone to 3.1.3 because I think it does not add anything new.
AppBackup I have not used it, well yes, but a long time ago, I used a cracked version, which gave me problems and I removed it immediately. Maybe you should consider giving it another (legal) chance ...

    Simpler still:

    1) SBSettings
    2)More
    3) App Folders

And that's it. Whoever understands it, follow it. It is the easiest way to know where the application data is stored.

AptBackup works perfectly to save installed Cydia programs.

    The greeting.

Hello, the tutorial is very good, but the problem I have is that I lost the SHH icon in the sbsttenings, I uninstalled it and reinstalled it but it still does not appear, and it is on in the configuration part.
Anyone know what can it be?
