Twitter allows users to decide who responds to their tweets

The novelties happen week by week in each of the technology strata. While the leaks of the Apple Glasses and the iPhone 12 stand out above all, Apple officially launches iOS 13.5. However, we do not leave aside the applications of the App Store that are constantly updated. Especially social networks that, in these times, are investing a lot of effort in alleviate the fake news through new functions. A few hours ago, Twitter announced that it was beginning to test a new function that allowed the user to decide which other users could participate in the conversation around a tweet, a novel feature that many users longed for.

More control over your Twitter conversations

From the Twitter team they assure that in recent years there has been some concern among users of the social network for not manage to maintain a conversation without intrusions. Although it is true that it is a public social network, tension and misunderstandings are quite common in this social network. That is why they have decided to launch a new feature in trial period with which the user can decide who can interact with a certain tweet / conversation.

In this way, when the user is writing the tweet, they have the possibility to customize who can reply:

  • Everyone
  • The people you follow
  • The people who are mentioned

If you are lucky enough to be among the people who can comment on a limited tweet, you can do it as before: click on the conversation balloon and continue sending tweets. If you cannot answer, the icon will not appear gray and it will mean that you do not have permission to participate in the conversation. However, you can be aware of it because if you can read and interact with it through likes and retweets.

This feature is in addition to many others that are being rolled out continuously to a select group of users. Another of those functions that we will soon see also globally is the possibility to schedule tweets to be launched at a specific date and time. Do you have access to these functions? Very soon Twitter will launch them globally but until then we have to wait.
