Since Apple launched animated photographs through the Live Photos function, little by little more and more messaging platforms and applications are compatible with this format. However, we can also find some others that have passed Olympic, such as Twitter.
A few months ago, we informed you of Twitter's supposed future plans to offer Live Photos support on iOS. This information came from the security researcher Mat Navara who had found some lines of code in the iOS app where live photo support was referenced.
However, from the date, the company of Jack Dorsey had not commented on the matter, at least until yesterday. Twitter held an event before the press yesterday afternoon confirming that it is working on the possibility of add support for Live Photos through the official Twitter app for iOS.
Currently, if we want to share a live photo of our reel on Twitter, we can do so but through a cumbersome process that forces us to transform the image to a GIF by adding one of the two effects offered by the application itself: loop or bounce.
In addition, this would not be one of the novelties that could come in the future since it is also working on offering the possibility to users of the platform follow specific topics such as sports, celebrities, movies, news ... which will allow you to see a selection of these topics on your timeline, a function that is currently being tested on Android in a closed group of users.
Future updates will allow users create separate lists within the app to be able to follow your favorite topics individually. According to the company, this function will make Twitter a much more powerful platform of interest than it is up to now, thus allowing them to expand the number of monthly active users.
