Twitter will once again allow the strict chronological timeline

Twitter has been with us for more than 10 years And while it is true that companies must modernize, the truth is that the loyal group of Twitter users is asking for fewer changes (or, at least, changes in the right direction).

In recent years, we have seen the arrival of the longest Tweets, something that may have been more or less liked. But also we have seen the arrival of restrictions when using third-party applications for Twitter, having allowed it for years.

But there is an issue that many have criticized ad nauseam, the end of the pure chronology of our timeline. Twitter has been showing us “best Tweets first” for a long time. Selection of the different Tweets ("likes" of people you follow, the most retweeted, etc.), which appear ahead in our timeline, without following a chronological order.

You may like it more or less, but the truth is that Twitter did not give a choice either. Disabling the "Show best tweets first" option in the settings kept altering the timeline of the timeline with relevant Tweets that you may not have seen and other Tweets that, according to Twitter's algorithms, may interest you. Of course, also advertisements.

But yesterday, the official Twitter support account announced the news that is about to reach our timeline and that they will allow us a better control of what we see.

Thus, after making it clear that they want to show you the best Tweets and not the latest, they have decided to heed the criticism and will allow - they do not say when - toggle between a view of the best Tweets and a view where only the latest Tweets are shown in reverse chronological order. This option will begin to be tested soon in the official apps.

In addition, they also tell us that, by deactivating "Show the best Tweets first", we will no longer see "in case you missed it", or recommendations from people we do not follow.
