WhatsApp two-step verification now available to everyone

WhatsApp

Who has seen and who sees you. Before WhatsApp was acquired by Facebook, the messaging application was updated very late and very badly. Since then, updates have arrived at a good pace and with some importance. The latest news regarding the most used messaging application in the world is that they have added one more point of security: the XNUMX-step verification is now available to everyone users, or should be shortly.

Before continuing, I'd like to make one thing clear: some of you have probably seen this feature before, but it wasn't until a few hours ago that WhatsApp has remotely activated the feature for everyone. In fact, the new security feature has been in testing for several months and it was not until today that they "hit the button" to start appearing to all WhatsApp users.

WhatsApp two-step verification is now a reality

The new function is optional and is available from (WhatsApp) Settings / Account / Two-Step Verification / Activate. Once activated, we can verify our number using a six-digit number when installing WhatsApp on a new device. In addition, once the option is activated, we will be asked for an email that they will use to send us a link to deactivate the two-step verification in case we have forgotten the code. So that we do not forget, WhatsApp will ask us from time to time in a similar way to what happens with our unlock code of an iOS device even if we use Touch ID.

Personally, I do not have the option activated because it does not seem necessary to me. If we take into account that to enter WhatsApp they have to send us a code to our phone number, we would have to lose the phone, someone else find it and want to enter our WhatsApp, which does not seem very likely to me. How do you see it?

    Question:

If I have a company number for WhatsApp and I stop working in that company, does the one that receives my old number, when installing WhatsApp, will my old chats appear?

Hi Javier. If the iCloud account is not changed and there was backup, the new employee would have the copy of the chat and the same contacts, as long as these contacts have not been deleted.

To avoid this, you should delete your personal contacts from that phone and iCloud backup.

      A greeting.

Thanks, Pablo, you only got my number, that is, neither the terminal where I used it nor the sim card that I had, the same number but with a new sim.

Well, it seems like a good idea to me, in fact I would have liked to have it now since I am outside of my country, and I bought a prepaid number, my phone broke down and I bought a new one, and nothing, not being able to receive the confirmation sms (I am abroad with another number) I can not enable whatsapp.
