And no, it won't let us disable it. Why? Not even they themselves could logically answer this question.
This unfortunate measure has annoyed many of us who were used to having the time of the last connection disabled, an option that has stopped making sense with these checks. That is, if I have removed the last connection, Why the hell do I want to know when my messages are read and let it be known when I read the rest? One more chapter to add to the long list of nonsense in this app.
However, there are some tricks to prevent the user we are talking to from receiving the double check that confirms that we have read the message. These tricks, although rudimentary, can be useful to more than one.
Anti-check method 1st
The double check it is only done when we access the chat itself, not when we enter the application. In this way, we can enter the app, let it load the conversations and, later, deactivate our data (airplane mode). With the data deactivated, we enter the conversation, read the message and go back to activate it again. This way, you will never know that we have read your message.
Anti-check method 2st
This method is a bit more elaborate but it will allow us to continue chatting with the person in question without seeing that we have received their message. It consists of deactivating the data, entering the conversation and delete messages after reading them. In this way, the message or messages that we delete will appear without the blue color, even with our data connection activated.
None of these solutions seem feasible options for daily use, and I find it unfortunate that WhatsApp has loaded to some extent the option to remove the last connection, because I think it was the best that the app had. I don't like the new option not because I care if they know when I have read the message, but because I consider it totally unnecessary. And you, do you think it's a hit or miss?
