watchOS 2 brings Activation Lock to Apple Watch

Apple-Watch-Activation-Lock

It was incomprehensible. The company that developed an anti-theft system native that prevents thieves from using a stolen iPhone had not added the system on your smartwatch. And if that was not enough, the Apple Watch can now be restored and remove all traces of the former owner, which only serves to protect our data, but not to lock the clock. Good sense in this regard will come from the hand of watchOS 2.0, where Activation Lock has been added to prevent an illegitimate user from using an Apple Watch that they do not own.

No mention has been made at WWDC of the Activation Lock coming to the Apple Watch. It may make sense, since introducing something that should be there from the beginning as a novelty could be a bad idea. Apple tells us about this function for the Apple Watch on the page dedicated to watchOS 2, a system that will arrive in the fall (September or, perhaps, October).

watchOS 2 includes Activation Lock, a new security feature. Activating your Apple Watch requires your Apple ID and password, so if your Apple Watch is lost or stolen, your information is kept safe.

It is still "funny" that mention is made that our information will be kept secure, since the current PIN system also keeps our information safe. What it does not do is prevent a thief from using our device, but the criminal does not have access to our data if they do not know our PIN.

watchOS 2 (spelled exactly like this, along with the first in lowercase) will be a moderately important update. It actually adds functions that should have been available since version 1.0, but it seems that Apple has wanted to go with all things related to its wearable. Even so, the performance of the Apple Watch was quite bad for not having native applications, something that will be solved from the second version that will arrive in three or four months.
