WatchOS 2 is out now. How to install it on your Apple Watch

watchos2

The launch of WatchOS 2 was scheduled for September 16, but unfortunately Apple canceled it due to a critical bug that it had to solve against the clock. The new software for the Apple Watch is already among us and it will allow us to configure new animated wallpapers (compatible with Photo Live), enjoy the Timeline function (to navigate in time through the crown) and access new functions in third-party applications.

If you would like to update your Apple Watch to WatchOS 2 you will need to keep a couple of things in mind. First, your Apple Watch should have a 50% charge and have the charger handy, as you will need it for installation. Second, keep your Apple Watch and your iPhone close together so that there are no disconnections during software download and installation. If you don't have your charger nearby when you download WatchOS 2, you can always leave the installation for when you get home.

If you meet all of these requirements, the Downloading WatchOS 2 is extremely simple. Unlock your iPhone and head over to the native Apple Watch app. Under the "General" section, click on "Software Update" and in this section you can download the new software, which is over 500MB in size.

This is the first major software update Apple has released since its smartwatch went on sale in late April. In June, the company announced that the software for the Apple Watch would be dubbed WATCH.

I do not get the update!
Could it be because I have the beta of IOS9.1 installed on my iphone?

Hi, since the watchOS2 news came out, I've been checking it and nothing comes out in ios 8.4.1.
On the apple page, (support -> apple watch -> software update get watchOS2), put the requirements. One of them is to update the iphone to ios 9 or higher, while the update has the apple watch loading ...

After loading the 500 Mb update, it "sleeps" in "Verifying ..."

Update to iOS9, as Raúl says download the 500mb of watchos2, and perfect, all good.

Looking for the Apple Watch update in your iPhone app?

PS: You cannot update it from the Apple Watch itself.

Hi guys! Have you been able to update the Apple Watch? I am in the verification step and in the end it gives me a network error (and I am writing to you from the iPhone!). I do the update from the watch app and I have the iOS updated tb.
    Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Hi Sandra, I suppose you have IOS 9.0.1 on your iPhone (requires the latest version).
Did you have the apple Watch with more than 50% battery and connected to the power?
And the iphone relatively close, so as not to interrupt the bluetooth communication?

Anyway, it stays Verifying. What is there to do?.
