What's new in WhatsApp, new voice notes feature and 300M users

WhatsApp, the increasingly ubiquitous global messaging application, has launched new voice messages, a new feature that will allow users to record and send audio files with one touch.

The 45-employee courier company is based in Mountain View, California, and confirmed that the new feature will make it a breeze for us to communicate via audio notes, easier even than typing, since "WhatsApp is a communication company at all levels, not just text".

This service has been launched under the name push-to-talk (click to speak), and it was a personal project of WhatsApp co-founder Jam Koum, who has been working closely with the company's engineers for the past six months to develop this service.

This new option focuses on the fact that on our chat screen, when we have the keyboard picked up, the 'send' button is changed to a microphone icon, through which we can send our audio messages with a single touch. This new option begins to be implemented as of today and is expected to reach all devices in a very short time (1-2 days). Also, it seems, we will not have to update the app to enjoy this service.

WhatsApp has also communicated that it has reached the impressive figure of 3oo million monthly active users, exceeding 20 million monthly active users in four countries: Germany, Spain, Mexico and India.

Write it down for what later to make a post about it, but what is Line or any of those apps are going to fail or at least they will continue to be behind WhatsApp, for a long time at least

I do not know about you, but since the last WhatsApp update a message appears indicating that I have made the Jailbreak and the application closes itself and the iPhone is stuck so many times I have to restart it to use the phone again, It's already making me desperate.

It only needs to integrate an api that goes from voice to text and another from text to speech and voilaa

If you can use the voice dictation that apple already integrates, like the text dictation also integrated by apple.

Put the batteries to adapt the app to ios 7, I still get the error when writing and by the way, you can put tones from the library

I don't get the option to record ...

How is it done to remove this option? I find it a nuisance

  7.   Juan Sebastian Rodriguez said

I don't like it, I find it very uncomfortable to hold down the button to start recording

It is push to talk, if you want to record audio without holding down the button, then use the note engraving that you have always brought and that's it, you press once and that's it. how much trouble for that?

If I could make calls from WhatsApp like Line or Viber it would be a great goal !!! what whatsapp would gain by implementing the calls

    1.    andres said

And video calls too? I don't think so, that's putting more garbage to the application like stickers and stuff, people want more than everything basic and functional, there you have facebook, viber, tango, and stop counting applications that They do that and people make more calls than text? , no.

Greetings gentlemen, I do not know if it happens in ios 6 it happens but I have ios 7 beta 5 on an iphone 5 and this latest version of WhatsApp I don't know how to delete a broadcast message! someone knows???

    1.    Javier Martín said

Yes, you have to search for any contact for whom you have sent the broadcast and delete it from the contact's conversation, then the "Broadcast" section disappears. This happened to me the other day in iOS 6.
