Next September 7, the most important Keynote of the year for Apple will take place, the one in which we will see for the first time the iPhone 14, but it will not be the only novelty that the Cupertino company will present that day, and that is that many other surprises await at the Steve Jobs Theater.
Along with the iPhone 14 we can see the new Apple Watch Series 8, the Apple Watch Pro and some other surprises such as iOS 16. We are going to tell you what are all the novelties with which Apple plans to set trends during the remainder of the year and for the future, are you prepared?
Two versions of the Apple Watch
It has already happened on previous occasions, an example was with the arrival of the Apple Watch Series 1 and Series 2 that were presented simultaneously, as well as with the first appearance of the best-selling Apple Watch SE.
In this case, the Cupertino company aims at a new sector of users, maintaining as always the alternative to the traditional Apple Watch and another with a renewed design that is mainly focused on resistance and another type of data analysis, we are talking about the Apple Watch Pro, a watch that seems to be focused on extreme sports, adventure and resistance in general, according to rumors.
In this case, the Apple Watch «Pro» as it will presumably be known, will have a significantly larger size, making the jump to 47 millimeters, to offer a screen of almost two inches. In addition, the design of the watch would become "flat", in tune with the iPhone and other Apple products like the iPad itself. According to Mark Gurman this will help the durability of the watch. Instead, it would use considerably wider straps, one of Apple's main accessory revenue streams.
Regarding the differentiating characteristics, the main one will be a larger battery, in view of its notoriously superior size. In the same way, will implement a "low consumption" mode designed for long days of training or risky sports. Other rumors point directly to satellite connection capabilities, which would make the Apple Watch Pro a benchmark model for those who practice extreme sports.
It will be made up of a tianium and sapphire crystal case, in turn implementing a temperature sensor, which, however, could be shared with the Apple Watch Series 8. Taking into account that the current inflation and the price of the Apple Watch Series 7 Edition , we can presume that the price of the new Apple Watch Pro will reach at least 1.159 euros.
Returning to the Apple Watch Series 8 and taking into account the usual design renewal cycles at Apple, we can assume that it will maintain the proportions of the Apple Watch Series 7. We will have few improvements at the hardware level, mainly focusing on a new version of watchOS with an improved low power mode and in red with a new hue.
Other rumors gain strength such as the implementation of a glucose sensor, a temperature sensor and even blood pressure measurement, something that seems difficult given the features that we can currently enjoy. As for the price and taking into account the general increase in prices, it is expected to start from 489 euros for the smallest aluminum version.
The iPhone 14 in all its variants
The iPhone 14 will receive a redesign of the notch, as was the case with the arrival of the iPhone 14, but it is something that will remain available only for the "pro" versions. We will have changes in the nomenclatures, starting to be distributed as follows:
- iPhone 14: 6,1 inches
- iPhone 14 Pro: 6,1 inches
- iPhone 14 Max: 6,7 inches
- iPhone 14 Pro Max: 6,7 inches
These models will differ mainly by notch style, which will become in "freak" mode for the Pro versions and in traditional mode for the standard versions. This is how the iPhone 14 Mini disappears that does not seem to have had the reception in sales that the Cupertino company expected.
In this way and unlike what had been happening previously, it seems that Apple will mount processors of the last generation, specifically the A15, in the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Max, while the new processor manufactured by TSMC with 3nm technology baptized as A16 will remain exclusively for the iPhone 14 Pro and his older brother.
Regarding storage, the traditional versions will have 128/256/512GB while the Pro versions will also add a 1TB version, thus dissolving the rumors that we would see a 2TB iPhone, which is not only incoherent, but goes against the grain of storage available in other products in the Apple catalog.
We will not see the USB-C port arrive on the new iPhone, while we have leaks about battery capacities, without being very specific, they already point to an increase in line with what we have been seeing in other years.
As for the cameras, the tune will be maintained on both devices, with an improvement in the extra sensor of the Pro versions and a noticeably larger module, as the industry brand in other models. In this case, the most advanced model will have 48MP with 8K recording possibilities, thanks to an increase not only in resolution, but also in the size of the Ultra Wide Angle, which will go from 1,0 µm to 1,4 µm.
