Write for iPhone and iPad, now free for a limited time

Those of us who are dedicated to writing even professionally on web pages and blogs are usually aware of those applications that help us write more and better from our iOS devices, and although personally I am already clear about which one is my favorite, I like to explore new options and see what they offer, because you never know.

Today we can take advantage of the offer that Tanmay Sonawane (developer of the applications I'm talking about) offers us to test a new writing tool whose name (and icon) is more than descriptive: Write. Of course, it is a promotion for a limited time so it is best to hurry up and download them as soon as possible to be able to benefit from the discount.

Write, the app to write, and nothing else

Write is a writing application available for both iPhone and iPad and Mac, and is based on a functional, clean and distraction-free writing environment, based on a minimalist and very attractive design. From Cult of Mac they spoke of this app as "the future of iOS text editors", while from The Next Web they pointed out that "it is an almost perfect way to annotate notes on your iPhone." Given these, and other professional opinions, we have no choice but to try Write for iOS, even more so now that we can get it totally free Limited Time.

As you can see from the images on these lines, the first thing that draws our attention about Write is its careful design, very clean, in which what is most important, our written words, stands out. However, my own experience and that of people close to me shows me that the iPhone is not the most suitable device for writing texts of certain dimensions, due to an obvious question of comfort with respect to the size of the keyboard. Write can be a great tool for productivity and creation for iPad, perhaps as Bword, Scrivenner and even Ulysses already are, my favorite by far, but also with a high price.

Main features of Write for iOS

We have already talked about its minimalist design, a feature stands out not only because it catches our attention or we like it, but because helps us focus on what really matters, writing. But Write for iPhone and iPad (and also for Mac) offers a series of functions and features that are what make it a really useful and interesting tool:

  • Automatic synchronization of all your writing between all your devices (iPhone, iPad and Mac) using iCloud or Dropbox.
  • Open and write: in four open the app, you will find a blank page to write without wasting time, very much in the style of «Drafts».
  • You can import texts from other applications.
  • Insert images.
  • Includes support for Text expander.
  • Upload to Dropbox in the background even if you close the app.
  • Possibility to create folders to order your texts.
  • You will be able to create and edit files on all devices.
  • Full support for Markdown as well as other similar apps like the ones I mentioned before.
  • Quick View to view any file without having to open it.
  • Includes Night Mode and brightness control.
  • Expand options for share via URL, publish as web page, save to Google Drive, Evernote, and more.
  • And many more options.

Write for iPhone, iPad and Mac are sold separately at a price of 2,29 euros each in the case of iOS, and 10,99 euros for the Mac version. The latter is not in promotion, however, the two versions for iOS you can get them now completely free for a limited time. So, whether you like to write or "just in case", don't waste a second and get hold of them now.

NOTE: : the developer of Write warns that the synchronization between Mac and iOS through iCloud is down, however, through Dropbox it works well. Although he appears to be working on fixing the problem, "I don't have a set date for a solution."

This article does not work as they advertise. It is only good for hearing a faint sound at 10 feet. It's the only thing it does.
