YouTube is no longer full screen on iPad

It seems that Google continues to "invite" us to use their applications to enjoy their services 100%. If it has been a long time since you stopped supporting Push notifications in Gmail for the native iOS application, now, behind the scenes, updated the web version of YouTube and no longer allows iPad to view full screen videos. The problem is accentuated in web pages with embedded videos, something that, logically, does not affect the native YouTube app.

As you can see in the screenshot that heads this post, now we no longer have the option to enlarge the video to see it full screen and I think it is a movement that will not make anyone happy, including myself. Personally, I don't like the native YouTube app. It does not load as fast as others or as Safari itself, not to mention that you cannot hear music by putting the application in the background.

With this new player, it is possible to change the resolution of the video while we watch it, we can activate the subtitles, add the video to watch it later, give "I like" or "I do not like" and share the videos on social networks most important, as well as we can open the video in the native YouTube application if we have it installed tapping the YouTube icon.

On an iPhone, as you can see in the following image, everything continues as usual: if we touch the video, it opens to full screen with a "special" player that, when we leave, stops playing.

The change I don't think anyone likes. It seems that because Google "wants to" I can no longer see videos in full screen from the Safari on my iPad, since I do not like the official version of YouTube. It may be that, for Google, the iPad is a device like a computer, but I do not agree at all. Sincerely, I think it is a trick for us to use the official application. Too bad, Google.

I deleted the native YouTube application, I don't have it either on the iPad Air or on the iPhone 6, it's a trick, so many updates just to delete the negatives just like Facebook, the truth is, Google is falling for me… it treats its users very bad (in certain applications) .. I see it very bad !!

Who uses YouTube on the web having the app? It's like wanting to use an ass while having a car.

Pablo Aparicio, could you mention where the official app is going wrong. It is a serious question, I have also read opinions about what is complaining, for example, about the FB app.

In particular, I did not complain about any.

Well, if you are watching a video embedded in a web and you want to see it in full screen. It is much more convenient than having to open the app.

Pablo Aparicio: I'm going to review what you mention on an old iPad 2, does the problem persist in other browsers?

Don't feed the trolls. The YouTube application is garbage, if I don't need an application on my PC, why would I need it on a tablet? As simple as that.

The YouTube app was never to the liking of many, I deleted it and created a shortcut, I prefer to watch the videos on safari, what's next? Not being able to access the page from a cell phone browser?
