Apple could delay the launch of the iPhone 5G mmWave until 2021

iPhone 11

New year, new iPhone. We started 2020 and we continue with all the rumors about what the new iPhone this year will be like, the first iPHone with 5G. And is that a new analyst report suggests that Apple could only launch phones compatible with 5G 6GHz networks, thus leaving out the latest devices with modems compatible with mmWave, the latest 5G technology. After the jump we give you all the details of this new report that informs about how the devices of the boys of the block can be this year 2020.

The differences between the two technologies are that the mmWave is capable of reaching 1 Gbps, and this technology would be launched on iPhones presented this year but released in 2021, that is, Apple would not have all the technology ready for the iPhone that we will see in September. And they talk about 60 million iPhone 5G units being released in 2020, and only 8 million units would be compatible with mmWave in January 2021. These by the way They would be the ones that incorporate the modem owned by the Cupertino guys themselves, since the ones we will see in September will mount Qualcomm modems.

Yes, all the iPhone that we see in this year 2020 will have a 5G modem, everyone will incorporate this latest technology, something that is quite normal for how the market works. Whether it takes a modem or another at the end is a bit irrelevant, we will not have any substantial improvement using one technology or another so we will see little change, that is, from my point of view at the user level we really should not worry about which modem our device carries. So, we will wait a few more months since until September we will not have any confirmation from the guys from Cupertino about these new iPhone with 5G.
