Disney Research is testing true wireless charging, and yes, it works

This is one of those issues that users may think that this has already been invented for a long time, but nothing is further from the truth and that is that true wireless charging today we cannot say that it exists as such. Let me explain, the wireless charging that we have today in some (rather few) smartphones it's by induction, that is, the user has to leave the phone on a base which is connected to a cable on the wall, so we are no longer facing a real wireless charging.

Surely many of those present are already clear about this, but there are many people who are not clear about it, so we must highlight these tests being carried out by Disney Research, a department of Disney that we all know, and that is giving them good results.

The technology that they are developing and that seems to work in the first real tests, are easy to explain: when entering a room with the smartphone in the pocket this automatically without the need for any base or similar, it starts charging automatically. Yes, this is exactly what they have achieved with these tests and this is wireless technology in all words.

Logically all this is in the testing phase but here is a video in which you can see the “quasistatic cavity resonance” (QSCR) technology that creates magnetic fields in a room able to charge the device without doing anything.

But this technology requires certain requirements to function and security that are obviously "not very viable" today. In the tests carried out by the team, the walls, floor and ceiling of the room have to be made of metal and in the middle we find a copper tube filled with condensers that in real case it would have to be protected so as not to cause an accident since it is capable of transmitting up to 1.900 watts of energy, which achieves the necessary magnetic field to charge the device wirelessly.

Clearly the advances are real and very interesting to really get to charging without cablesFurthermore, they are not the only ones who are investigating and conducting tests to implement this charging technology, so the competition in this regard is very good. But we must be aware that in addition to what has been said (room, copper, etc.) it is necessary that the device itself be compatible with this type of load.

I understand that they refer to watts of power, right? The technology is not really new, if the application.
