This week the application announced in a statement the elimination of nearly 583 million fake accounts so far in 2018.

All these accounts deleted in 2018 are in addition to the more than 3,5 million comments and posts deleted in recent months for being inappropriate content. All this is being carried out from the strictest rigor and it is intended clean up totally degraded Facebook image.

There is no doubt that on Facebook they are taking seriously about cleaning up the social network and during the first quarter of this year 583 million false accounts have been eliminated and about 837 million publications have been deleted, as they well explain in their transparency report after work done between October 2017 and March 2018.

All this thanks to the work of the AI ​​(Artificial Intelligence) and the reports of some users with which they have managed to eliminate some 21 million posts with sexual, racist, hateful comments, with terrorist content or similar. 96% of the content deleted according to Facebook has been thanks to AI and the other 4% to the reports of the users themselves.

Zuckerberg himself explained in his profile that they still have a lot of work to do and that they will obviously use all the means at their disposal to remove this type of content from their social network. All this also with sufficient transparency for its users and issuing this type of public communication twice a year.
