Apple Announces Purchase of Texture, a Digital Magazine Subscription Service

Nowadays there are more and more people who put aside paper, magazines or newspapers to switch to digital text. This what it is not something we can say is 100% extended, but it is true that it is increasing, and that is why Apple, along with the other large companies are interested in buying these media.

In this case it is about the purchase of Texture, a subscription service for digital magazines that has more than 200 copies in its catalog, including some of the best magazines from the best publishers in the world. Digital media are on the rise and the experience in the sector of this type of subscription copies can be a good thing for Apple, at least that is what they want us to see from the Cupertino firm.

The news is very well told by Apple with Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of Internet Software and Services at the helm. It is logical to think that this type of digital media is going down, but it is not entirely true and having all these magazines in your own catalog can be really interesting for subscription services. Cue himself explains in the press release:

We are looking forward to Texture joining Apple with its excellent catalog of magazines from some of the world's leading publishing groups. We are committed to quality journalism from trusted sources and we want these magazines to continue to publish interesting and well-designed stories for readers.

Since its launch in 2010, Texture has become the premier multi-magazine subscription service (with a monthly payment of $ 9,95) giving users the ability to instantly access some of the most widely read magazines from any device.
