Apple joins the Malala Fund to support girls' education

Apple continues to be a leading company in promoting equality between people and in this case it becomes an honorary partner of an association that takes its chest out of announcing the association with the Malala Fund, directed by Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai.

For those of you who don't know, the Malala fund comes after the violent assassination attempt on a Pakistani teenage girl and girls' education activist, Malala Yousafzai, inspired the creation of the UNESCO Malala Fund for the right of girls to receive an education.

The fund, which is part of the Global Alliance for Girls' and Women's Education "Better Life, Better Future", was created in 2012 with the aim of expanding girls' access to quality gender-sensitive education, as well as ensuring safe learning environments, particularly in countries affected by conflict and disaster. The Islamic Republic of Pakistan made an initial contribution of US $ 10 million and, starting in 2014, The CJ Group became one of its largest contributors to the Fund, as did other contributors like Apple itself now.

The Cupertino company will help the Malala Fund expand its organization through technology, curricula and research on the policy changes needed to help girls around the world go to school and complete their education. Tim Cook, Apple's CEO, will join the Malala Fund's board of directors.

Tim Cook himself said:

We believe that education is an important factor in achieving equality and we share the Malala Fund's commitment to offering all girls the possibility of going to school. Malala is a courageous advocate for equality. She is one of the most exemplary figures of our time, and we are honored to be able to help her expand the important work she does to provide opportunities for girls around the world.

So they already have another important partner in this fund and we can say that he is Malala's first honorary partner. It is expected that now with this new and powerful partner Malala, she will double the number of scholarships awarded by her Gulmakai Network and bring its funding programs to India and Latin America to more than 100.000 girls.
