Apple continues with the development of its Software updates and has published the third betas of all operating systems under development. Is about iOS 15.4, iPadOS 15.4, watchOS 8.5 and tvOS 15.4, that polish the functions introduced in the previous two betas and prepare for the official launch of the versions in a date close to a possible Apple event in the first two weeks of March. Let us remember that one of the main novelties of iOS 15.4 was the possibility of unlocking our iPhone 12 and 13 with Face ID and mask, something that has been requested for many months.
The third betas of iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4 are released, among others
The news of iOS 15.4 were many in the first betas of the version. Among them we can highlight the introduction of unlocking by Face ID with a mask on the iPhone 12 and 13. In addition, the use of ProMotion technology was released to developers, allowing them to use the refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. On the other hand, it was incorporated a function with which we could register the COVID certificate directly from the Camera of our iPhone. And finally, the addition of more than 30 new emojis in the iOS emoticon keyboard.
In iPadOS 15.4 the main claim fell on UniversalControl, a tool that allowed to use several screens of different devices controlled with the same hardware. A function that seems straight out of science fiction but it seems to work really well.
All the third betas for developers of iOS 15.4, iPadOS 15.4, watchOS 8.5 and tvOS 15.4 are now available in the Developer Center. They can be installed from scratch by downloading the profile or via an over-the-air update if the profile is already installed on your devices.
We have to remember that watchOS 8.5, on the other hand, did not incorporate great news except for the introduction of new emojis. And in the case of tvOS 15.4 and HomePod 15.4, they included minor, unremarkable improvements.
