Yesterday marked 13 years since the digital music revolution that led to the arrival of the iTunes Store at the hands of Apple. The iTunes Store was the beginning of the end of the great Napster application, that application that allowed us download our favorite songs in a simple and fast way but not legally. iTunes was the first platform that, in exchange for 99 cents, allowed us to download our songs legally and forever to our company devices, since DRM protection did not allow us to play it outside the Apple ecosystem, which meant that Apple will face several complaints from users.
But Apple swung too far without seeing the streaming music services coming than in recent years they had been eating ground in the sale of music in both digital and CD format. When he found out, he bought Beats Music so he could later release Apple Music. When Apple launched its streaming music service, to try to recoup part of the income that it was losing from the sale of music in digital format from the iTunes Store, it announced that its service would not be exclusive to its ecosystem, but also would launch an application so that Android users could make use of this new competitor in the streaming music market.
The Apple Music application for Android has just received a new update, reaching version 0.9.8 offering support to play videos, which are available in the New tab, although we can also use the search box to find more content in this format. But in addition, those of Cupertino have also added support so that users can create family accounts, which allow the use of up to 6 different accounts corresponding to members of our family, for 14,99 euros per month.
