On October 30, Apple's servers were put into operation to launch the final version of iOS 12.1, a version that came after more than five previous betas. Usually, Apple stops signing the previous available versions two weeks after the launch of the new version, however, this time it has not been like that.
For a few hours, it is no longer possible to go back iOS 12.0.1, the version prior to iOS 12.1, since Apple has stopped signing it through its servers. In this way, if you have the firmware with this version waiting to install it on one of your compatible devices, it is already too late, since the device will never skip the activation sale.
That Apple stops signing iOS 12.0.1 in theory should not pose any problem for users who are waiting for the possibility of jailbreaking their devices, since at the moment we do not have any news that offers clear information about the progress of this method to give the operating system freedom that many users want.
The main novelties that we find in iOS 12.1, are the group calls through FaceTime with up to 32 interlocutors, the also expected support for dual SIM, the new emojis and the possibility of modifying the depth of field in the photographs with this effect that we have made with the iPhoen XS and iPhone XS Max exclusively.
As of today, the only version available for both the iPhone and iPad is iOS 12.1. Currently, developers have spent several weeks with the different betas that Apple has released for both developers and those brave men who are part of the public beta program.
