Bug with a character in Telugu causes unexpected closures in iOS

The first thing to say is that it is a bug already confirmed by Apple itself and that in theory it should not affect the vast majority of iOS users, since it happens with the special Telugu language and a character from it. In this case, in addition to confirming the existence of a bug, Apple says that it is solved in the following version of the operating system iOS 11.3.

It is true that from time to time similar bugs appear in iOS, an important one that comes to mind is the one that caused crashes on the iPhone and iPad in iOS 11.1.2, Apple on that occasion had to quickly launch the new version 11.2 to solve the problem. This time the bug is not so serious and simply we will restart the application.

The Italian web mobile World is in charge of showing us this bug in a video, but you can check the bug for yourself when you add this character to an iOS device, be it the iPhone or iPad. What it does is restart the application that we are using, either Messages or even on Twitter as shown in the video:

Even sending this Telugu character to another user from a computer causes the iPhone to reset itself upon receipt. We are not facing something that most of us use and therefore we can say that it is one of the far-fetched bugs with little direct impact on the use, basically you have to "force" it by looking for this sign and sending it to produce.

On the other hand, comment as we said at the beginning that the betas released for iOS 11.3 show -as several developers already explain- that this new version no longer has the problem with this symbol and therefore the bug is corrected. In the event that someone sends you this symbol and your iPhone or iPad restarts, the only thing you can do is delete the message being quick.
