Fitbit already announces that it will stop supporting Pebble

After the purchase of Pebble by Fitbit last year 2016 -the end of that year- the brand itself warned that it would endure technical support until 2018 and yes, 2018 has already arrived and it seems that the news is not very good in this regard for the owners of these smart watches that although it is true they were not the first to reach the market, they were one of those whoand they revolutionized the world of smartwatch with its launch on the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform.

Now after this time it seems that Fitbit will not respond directly to support for these devices. This is something that had already been announced and that a company statement now reaffirmed in which it is noted that Pebble watch users will be left without support as of June 30 of this year.

Obviously this will not completely leave users hanging and is that the Pebble user community is really great, to stay out of the news or possible solutions to the problems that appear, but it is clear that it will not be something official and this is always negative in many aspects.

Without official support it does not mean the immediate end

This is something that many users always think when the support of a product officially ends but nothing is further from the truth. Yes, it is true that this is an important suit in several respects but it does not mean that the Signature watches bought by Fitbit stop working abruptly now.

The main problem that Pebble users may encounter could be the compatibility of the synchronization application with the users of these watches with the iPhone or Android devicesas an update to Apple's operating system could cause it to stop working. All this was announced and many of these users of Pebble watches switched to Apple Watch, when they saw the Fitbit movement. Hopefully these real problems can be solved by a new or similar version, we will see if it is really the end with the passage of time.

The Fitbit people bought Pebble just to get a competitor out of the way.
They dismantled the company, buried their work, paralyzed the distribution of the new Pebble Time model and have endured support only because of legal imperative: there were watches under warranty and they had to guarantee their operation.

If you had to wish Fitbit something?
A slow, agonizing slide to bankruptcy. By scoundrels.

I feel each of your words in my chest. How it hurt me to see how the best smartwatch ever was charged and depreciated. I had pre-purchased the pebble time 2. And for me it was a dream, it was the perfect watch, like my pebble time (which I currently use) but improved in many ways. And when I found out the launch was canceled ... death to fitbit.
