How to use unofficial lightning cables on your iPhone and iPad thanks to the Jailbreak

ios_7_unauthorized_cable_accessory

If you have bought an unauthorized Lightning cable, you will have already noticed that iOS 7 is very delicate with this issue, and it has probably sent you a message that this accessory it is not certified and it will not work properly, having wasted a few euros and having to spend a few more on an original or Apple authorized cable. Thanks to the Jailbreak and Cydia, this is over, and you can use unofficial cables to charge and sync your device.

The solution to the problem comes from the hand of Unathourized Lightning Cable Enabler, an application that you can find within the ParrotGeek repository (http://parrotgeek.net/repo). Once added to Cydia, you will find the package in question, free of charge, inside it and you can proceed to install it on the device. Although some users say that the message has completely disappeared, there are others who assure that the message continues to appear, although they do get their device to charge using the unofficial cable, so the result seems good. I don't have any unauthorized cables to test it, so I can't confirm either one or the other. Tell us your experience in the comments.

After the news of accidents, some even fatal, due to the use of unofficial cables and / or chargers, Apple last year started a campaign in which any unauthorized cable or charger was replaced for an original one, something that many users took advantage of to get them at a very good price. ¿Safety issues or seeking benefits? Undoubtedly both aspects are behind the strategy followed by Apple with its cables and chargers. As a personal recommendation, flee from cheap chargers that can end up spoiling the battery of your beloved iPhone or iPad, not to mention other more important accidents.

By the way, the repo seems to be a bit saturated, it gives errors when loading. Be patient. Everyone will be trying to access at the same time.

I bought a cable from another brand supposedly "certified" with ios 7 I got the message although it has always worked for me to charge and use with the PC. Install that tweak and the message keeps popping up. I thought that maybe the developer had published a new version and just added the repo and that tweak is gone. 🙁

  3.   Blondie said

Yes. It gives an error and in the repo there are only 3 tweaks and none is that one.

Yes, it fails to load and there are only three tweaks, none in that one.

I have a cable for my official Kia car, with which I can change the song with the buttons on the steering wheel, it detects it as an ipod. The cable is for iphone4. I bought a cable adapter to connect this to my 5S but I get the message that it is not compatible. It charges the mobile but the car no longer recognizes it as an ipod and I can only connect it by BT. Would this work? I still haven't been able to JB my device.

if you can't install it from that repo tb this is xsellize and biteyourapple

I think the recommendation is very good so that we can use pirated cables. As good as the one that a user did a few days ago on how to solve the problems that appsync gave with safari-mail-time and that you censured for, to see, contributing to the hacking. Not that but this yes. I don't know, I can't quite understand it. Anyway, thanks for your work and keep it up. Greetings from a faithful follower

In my opinion, it would be like giving you the instructions to enter a factory and steal lightning cables. I do see the difference. Here we talk about licenses, copies, imitations ... The pirating of applications is to get free what costs money, of course, at least for me.

  8.   Fran said

Well, the truth is that it does disappear, but to give this news first-hand, you could buy a cable, they are not that expensive.

The problem is to post something without first checking that it cannot be carried out or that it does not work. It is what has the copy / paste of other sites of true relevance for iOS (read iDownloadb .., etc). And all for, say, 1 euro ??

    1.    Luis Padilla said

Sorry but it's not a copy-paste. There is an application in Cydia that claims to do that and so I post it, in my words. This is not a tutorial, or any review, just a description of an application. End and end.

It's not .. just the cables .. I have a cover / charger .. and after ios 7 I stopped working, it is not the same to approve of piracy than to feel bad about the billionaires who lose a few euros ...

I installed the tweak and nothing ... The message keeps coming out and it doesn't load me. OUCH !!!

  12.   Carlos said

Hello, in my case it did not work either, when I connect it with a non-certified cable (with or without said Tweak) it loads in jumps, two seconds and it disconnects, it immediately reloads it is as if you were constantly connecting and disconnecting the cable. Does anyone know something? or does it happen to someone?

Don't you think this post is TOO similar to Appleweblog's? What great originality you have in ActualidadiPhone, yes sir.

with a 5s 7.0.4 it does not work for me at all

But can you access the repo? Because I still can't get in. I have consulted the creator to see that he responds to me.

For the car I have an unofficial cable, when updating to ios7 the message you cite came out but another day I downloaded the original one, I connected it, it worked well obviously I removed it and I put the non-original one again and the message did not come out again and Until today, it will be bullshit but it worked for me.

  17.   hector_exu said

I get the same message using the cable that came with the iPhone

    1.    Luis Padilla said

Well, that looks more like the cable is bad than something else. With an original cable it should not happen to you

  18.   Jaume said

It is in the repo of xsellize, hackyouriphone and biteyourapple

It does not work for me on iphone 5 with 7.0.4

  19.   lci. Alonso Aispuro said

Luis, you must understand one thing, this tweak did not come out today. It actually came out a week ago (I think Friday of last week). I installed it on Saturday January 4 and in many forums I saw that it did not work on devices with A7. I myself corroborated on my iPhone 5s with iOS 7.0.4 using an uncertified cable and it does not actually work.

I would recommend handling this post as a "preview" not as a solution. Well, you are generating a lot of conflict and confusion in users. It would be better as "Unathourized Lightning Cable Enabler would allow the use of non-certified cables." This type of post about Jailbreak was handled by GNZL and there was never any confusion. I also advise you to discuss it with the one who has more experience in this field before publishing the post, although I appreciate the effort and dedication you give to this blog.

Thanks for the advice. If you read my article, in it I indicate that the tweak is not infallible, with users who report different results, I myself admit that I have not been able to test the tweak, so as not to deceive anyone, and I request the opinions of the users to confirm whether it works as it should or not. I think there is little confusion.

Although I have only been publishing articles on Act iPhone for a short time, I am not new to this world.

      Greetings.

I downloaded it from the biteyourapple repo, the message appeared but it kept loading.

I imagine that with this tweak tmb the problem in the external batteries would be solved, right? What if it is that with an old connector adapt to the new lightning in an iPhone5 with iOS 7.4 although the warning message IF CHARGES appears, but in a POWER BANK or EXTERNAL BATTERY it does not charge.

  22.   glaucoforever said

Tested on iphone 5 and it does not work, I think that Luis Padila's article at no time says that the problem will be solved, in that I have to support Luis because it is like that.
The fact is that the same repo has withdrawn that package and it will be for something that or has withdrawn.
It was merely a shit from the creator of the tweak. The truth is that the package is not hosted in that repo, you can find it in others but it does not work, it is simply a FAKE.

The protection of IOS 7 to prevent unofficial chargers from connecting to the phone, is not only an economic measure, which seeks to ensure the sales of material approved by Apple. It is a security measure for those who use it -we all remember the sad cases of Chinese users with unofficial chargers-, reducing the risks due to the use of poor quality materials (those that are usually sold as unofficial), and, on the other hand , protects the battery of the device, ensuring that the correct voltage enters it through good quality components. Using unapproved chargers, and on top of resorting to "jailbreaking" (which means allowing real garbage to enter the device willing to destabilize the solid software of the phone), is a terrible decision that will reduce the usefulness of the batteries of the devices that it use, and will cause, over time, further deterioration of its components.

Hello friends I want to know how to update my iPhone 4 to iOS 7 but I have cydia and they told me that it will crash if I update it like this, please help I can not do anything with my cell

    1.    Luis Padilla said

Connect to iTunes, backup and restore the device, it will leave you iOS 7 "clean". If you want later, restore the backup and that's it. Or configure everything from scratch (I recommend it)

Guys it's re simple to charge it with an aftermarket cable and it works for all models

    Charge it off

We connect the iPhone turned on with the charger when the message that says it is not compatible comes out, we turn off the mobile and ready we leave it like that after 30 min they will have a 60% charge

Discuss if the advice served you
    regards

    Hello Crespodiano,
    About charging it off,
in my case I already have the mobile without battery and with the message to connect cable every time I press on.
Being off and the screen is black, I connect the cable, the battery indicator is briefly seen but instead of moving on charge it shows it to me with two red stripes without animation and it turns off.
Time passes and does not load,

    Has anyone else tried it?
    Updated today

I have to rectify, GOOD NEWS !!
The phone after 20 minutes I have found it started asking for the unlock code,
indicates that it is on charge (you can see the lightning or lightning next to the battery level, 3% at this time),
battery is still in a no-charge state,
I do not see an uncertified cable message (my Iphone is 5S updated as of today),
    that is,
that in the way indicated by Crespodiano
at least we could make a call with the phone in case of need
or the car charger that some of us have integrated works
At 27 minutes it has dropped from 3% to 2%, but for my important power
At least call by phone, it does not charge me.

Could it be that with some non-certified cables it works and with others it does?

Ask if someone can try it and tell how it went

  33.   David said

The iPhone charging works for me, turning it off with the lightning cable plugged into the pc, of course if you need a program called Asus Charger, which is nothing more than a tool for pc that helps you charge your device, for the moment I It has worked..

Well, I have found an unofficial one that does not give a message, the seller only says that it is compatible, but it is the first time that I have bought a non-original Apple and that it does not come out, also the cable is cool because it is quite thick and seems of good quality, for those who may be interested http://www.phoneval.es/123-cable-usb-iphone-5-alta-calidad-.html#/cable_usb_iphone_5_alta_calidad-azul
