IKEA TRÅDFRI smart bulbs are now compatible with HomeKit

We have been watching and talking about HomeKit compatible products for our day to day and obviously in this segment everything that comes is good. In the beginning, when home automation began to arrive for everyone and in a simpler way, the prices were not the tightest.

This has changed radically over time and today we find interesting products to control through HomeKit, which are accessible to everyone. It is the case of iKEA smart bulbs, model TRÅDFRI that after a journey in which we were not sure if they would end up arriving due to delays, they are now official and available to everyone.

IKEA finally gets into the smart light bulb market that at first was dominated by the big brands like Phillips, elgato, or similar and that with the passage of time others began to join with really good and interesting products in terms of quality and price, such as those of Koogeek and that will now reach many more users with the staging of this furniture giant such as IKEA.

It seems that IKEA puts all the meat on the grill and in addition to adding HomeKit compatibility, the option to control the lights through Alexa is added. Yes, it seems that the compatibility is total and above all what they tell us from this Swedish giant is that for them to work we simply have to update the version of the app to 1.2. These new «TRÅDFRI» bulbs that IKEA sells are really cheap and for about 10 euros we can get ours and control it from our iPhone.

The energy consumption of these bulbs is something that must also be taken into account today Since electricity bills are increasingly high, so the LED technology implemented in these TRÅDFRIs means that consumption is much lower than in traditional light bulbs, in some cases up to 85% less consumption.

Well, no matter how much I update the application, nothing at all. I have two ikea Tradfri bulbs and they are not recognized by the homekit. If you do not have the code or the box with the qr code there is no way.

It would be good to say that it is 10 euros plus the control center to buy. It is not just the light bulb. It is good to give all the information so as not to make mistakes….

The Xiaomi Mi Yeeligth does not need such a control center ...
