IPhone 8 and iPhone X are not compatible with T-Mobile's 600 MHz band

First of all we have to clarify that this is something that happens only in the United States and only with the T-Mobile operator. This operator launched this summer the 600 MHz band acquired at the beginning of 2017 in its LTE network and affirmed be the first in the world in 4G in this frequency band.

T-Mobile launched its new band to meet the needs of rural and interior areas, in just half a year the expansion of this band in the United States will cover many areas of the country such as West Texas, Southeast Kansas, the province of Oklahoma, North Dakota, Maine, North Carolina, Central Pennsylvania, Central Virginia, and Eastern Washington, among other places. The problem is that New iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X models are not compatible with this T-Mobile band.

The new spectrum is a strong push for the American operator that covers today with its LTE in large cities to more than 315 million US citizens, and with this low band it aims to improve indoor coverage and especially in areas where today they hardly have coverage. On the operator's own website they say very clearly that these new iPhones presented by Apple do not have support for this 600 MHz band:

Although recently announced Apple phones do not support 600MHz, they take full advantage of our current fastest network covering 315M POP, including our recently used 700MHz. And with our new iPhone exchange program for iPhone 8, 8 Plus and X buyers, customers can upgrade for free and get next year's model with a 50% paid exchange. Although we will never know which bands Apple will support, customers can switch to the next iPhone with great ease.

Some big brands, including Apple, are working to adapt to this new band and while this happens, the user who wants to buy a new iPhone is assured that T-Mobile will pay him 50% of the value of the iPhone. Obviously the LTE chips and hardware of the new iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X models are manufactured long before the implementation of this band and that is why they are not supported, but it is expected that in the next generation of smartphones from Apple, Samsung, LG and others are supported.
