There is a lot of talk about the iPhone of 2017, but we only have one thing confirmed: this year is the XNUMXth anniversary of the iPhone. For this reason, rumors assure very hopeful things for fans of Apple devices, such as a iPhone 8 that it will have a wraparound screen or, at least, that it will reach the edges on all four sides and that it will have the sensors, speakers and any possible button integrated into it.
The information or rumor that we are talking about today comes to us from an analyst, but this time that analyst is not called Ming-Chi Kuo. The analyst works at Cowen and Company and, citing supply chain sources Apple's Timothy Arcuri predicts a "feature-rich launch" of three new iPhone models in late 2017, a moment that absolutely does not surprise anyone. The analyst mentions something that has called «iPhone X».
iPhone 8 or iPhone X?
In the note that Arcuri has delivered to its investors, there is talk of a device with 5.8 inch OLED screen with 'wraparound' screen design, as well as two others with 4.7 and 5.5-inch screens that will receive the name of iPhone 7s and that will be the natural evolution of the models that we have available since September 2016.
Arcuri leaves in the air the possibility that Apple uses OLED displays on the iPhone 7s, something that will depend on if Samsung is able to cover all the demand of those of Cupertino. All the rumors we have read so far claimed that the less advanced models, that is to say, that were not the iPhone 8 or the "iPhone X" that Arcuri mentions, would keep the LCD panels that the iPhone has used until current generations.
The iPhone 8's screen would be larger, but the 5.8-inch would fit the same size as the iPhone 7 Plus thanks to the fact that it would stretch to the edges. With this in mind, Apple would integrate the sensors, the speaker and any button on the screen, which would result in an iPhone similar to the one in the previous image.
In any case, we have to take into account that we are still about 8 months from launch of the iPhone 8 or iPhone X, as Arcuri has referred to it, so we have to maintain our skepticism until, at the very least, the summer leaks begin. Would you like Arcuri to be right and the iPhone 8 to be like the one in the image above these lines?
