Legrand officially announces the purchase of Netatmo

As is evident, the largest companies are realizing the potential that the smart home has today and what it means to have a portion of this huge market in your possession. Well, a few hours ago the firm Legrand, a multinational that supplies electrical equipment has bought the French manufacturer of smart home equipment Netamo.

The amount of the transaction is completely unknown, what is clear is that this could be a master play for Legrand that currently does not have devices compatible with home automation but is involved in this world with BTicino, which is a brand of the Legrand Group and that offers domestic solutions at a higher level than what we know as a light, a thermostat, security cameras, etc…

In this case, with the purchase of Netatmo we can say that he would get fully involved in what we call today the smart home or the internet of things, with "more affordable" products for consumers like you or me. In any case, what can be done with these devices is a small part of what the most professional demotics offers today, but it is a very good start for all users since it is easy to understand and above all to install and use.

The case of Netatmo we all know the thermostat or the security cameras that can be connected with their own application to our device and control everything from it. Little by little this type of product will be the ones that are originally "installed" in homes. (since today a little push is missing) and we will simply have to use the app offered by the developer to be able to control the lights, blinds, garage door, air conditioning, etc ...
