We are approaching summer, and despite the fact that the presentation of the new iPhones is not scheduled until September, as is customary at Apple, it seems that we already take for granted that the new models will not involve a radical design change . Apple usually uses the iPhone design for two generations, and has done so at least until now, but this custom could come to an end and this year the new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus could have a design almost traced to the current models, although with some differentiating elements. As is usual, Martin Hajek offers us his excellent designs following all the rumors that appear on the net, and although it may be a disappointment for many, the truth is that they do not paint badly at all.
Continuous design
In matters of taste, no one can claim to be right. There are many who say that the most beautiful design so far is that of the iPhone 5 and 5s, but personally I find the iPhone 6 and 6s much more attractive and modern. The iPhone 7 would bet on maintaining a design that has made the iPhone 6 and 6s (and their respective Plus models) the best-selling models in Apple's history. In my opinion the perfect combination between design and resistance, something that the iPhone 5 or 5s could not boast of.
There will be some difference, such as the back is completely smooth, without those antenna lines that so horrified many but that have become a hallmark of the iPhone and that many other brands have imitated. The lines in this model will continue to exist, but they will go right around the edge of the iPhone leaving the back free. What we will continue to have is the "bulky" camera that has also caused many complaints.
Although Hajek in the normal model (iPhone 7) does not reflect it, most rumors claim that it will continue to be. What it does show is also something common in all the rumors seen so far: the size of the lens will be larger than in the current model. The cause of this? Completely unknown. We don't know what plans Apple has with the camera on this new iPhone.
Differentiating elements between the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus
When Apple launched the iPhone 6 Plus, the first 5,5-inch model, many of us missed that there were more elements that differentiated it from the 4,7-inch model than the size of the screen. So far only this and the optical stabilizer, in addition to the larger battery size, are the differences with the 4,7-inch iPhone. However, this could kill the iPhone 7 Plus, which Hajek calls the iPhone Pro (I doubt this will be the case in the end). As you can see in the picture, the new iPhone 7 Plus will have double objectives. Getting photographs with a wider angle, better results in low-light situations and who knows what else Apple is pulling up its sleeve, will be exclusive functions of the iPhone 7 Plus. Also now the rumor of a laser autofocus has appeared… Who knows.
The exclusive news of the iPhone 7 Plus will not be left there, because it also seems that it will have a Smart Connector. This connection system that Apple debuted with the original iPad Pro and later also added to the 9,7-inch iPad Pro would come to the large iPhone this year, we do not know exactly why. The use of an external keyboard may be an option, but it does not seem that it will be something so important as to justify this addition. A new charging system, faster data transfer ... We will see what Apple shows us in this regard.
No Headphone Jack and Stereo Speakers
It also seems certain that there will be no headphone jack, one of the first rumors that appeared of this model and that has caused opinions to differ. The Lightning and Bluetooth headphones will be the protagonists of this presentation if this fact is confirmed, and could at least have the counterpart of being able to enjoy better audio thanks to the stereo speakers. This has not been confirmed at the moment in any of the cases or plans that have supposedly been leaked, but it seems more than logical and what iPads have been enjoying for a long time.
Similar design, superior performance
A risky bet by Apple, which will also be of little help to the downward trend in iPhone sales, but the company will know its reasons for this decision. Perhaps the iPhone 8 that could arrive next year is going to be such a radical change that this year it was impossible to meet the deadlines to be able to launch it on time.
