The MOBAG team has taken into account all these problems that emanate from the need to go with our devices very close, and for this he presents his smart backpack, do you want to know what it consists of and how it could radically change your backpack concept? For two weeks we have carried this peculiar backpack behind us, as good lovers of technology, this type of products cannot be missing in our geek warehouse, otherwise it would be impossible to travel and attend to the needs of our work. To know if the backpack really offers everything it promises, we have had no choice but to stick it on our back, and we want to give you our conclusions about the quality and functionality of the product.

What is MOBAG?

We go in parts, and the first is know where this company comes from which aims to be a pioneer in Spain and radically change the current landscape of portable offices and smart backpacks.

MOBAG was born from the idea of a group of Spanish friends whose intention is precisely to facilitate the creation of autonomous work spaces that allow reconciling personal life and professional life to the maximum. They have taken into account, based on their experience, all the needs that may arise in a nomad generation as ours is, for this they decided to design an innovative product from Spain that had never before arrived in our country in this way, a smart backpack.

From MOBAG they have transmitted to us that the intention is not at all to create a new striking accessory or a sign of identity, on the contrary, from MOBAG what they want is to take a weight off your shoulders, although for this precisely they put a backpack on you.

For that, have taken an example from the current generation of digital nomads, ambitious, successful and above all knowledgeable about technology, who want to travel and live in the moment, and for whom their last concern should be how to transport all the tools that make their life easier

The design and materials

We have been testing their Premium Executive backpack, and the concept is quite clear to us. We stand before a backpack with a diaphanous design and considerable size, of the kind of backpacks that we are used to seeing on the backs of hundreds of people in the financial districts of the most important cities in Europe, we find ourselves in front of one of those backpacks designed not only to transport our laptop or workstation, of In fact, that makes MOBAG so special, that they have thought of practically everything.

A black color without fanfare, neither glossy nor matte, which is not intended to focus attention on a product that will inevitably focus the eyes of connoisseurs (or rather those in need) of this type of backpacks.

It is built in a way robusta, with a tight braiding and a material that stands out not only for its resistance, but for its easy cleaning. Thus, this backpack has metal zippers embedded in a protection and water resistance system that once again give it an interesting robustness. The MOBAG backpack is able to stand easily if we put it on the ground. The back padding and shoulder straps not only breathe, but are thick enough so that we do not feel discomfort or scratches when transporting the content. So far fine, needless to say the materials are what you would expect from a premium productEven the upper handle features a memory foam padding quite nice and it also allows to carry it with one hand without problems.

It is thought to travel, did you doubt it? In the back it has a holder for our trolley, this backpack would not only become our work companion, but it could be our travel companion without even messing up. And don't worry about the rain, the backpack we talked about it is fully waterproof, your technological devices are safe on sunny days, and against the worst rains.

What makes the MOBAG backpack smart?

You might think that calling a backpack smart just because it includes a portable battery is something daring, and I don't blame you for that, that idea is the first I preconceived before using it. It is time to get demanding, the trend now is to call almost everything intelligent because yes, but geeks like us need something more. Backpack not only has a 8.500 mAh battery that has a light indicator that will keep us informed of the autonomy without even removing it from the backpack (located on the front), it includes many more tools than I have decided to highlight the following:

External adapter: Carefully hidden in a side pocket (like almost everything in this backpack), we find a connection with which to charge the battery without removing it, something to be appreciated.
External USB charging port: On the other side of the backpack we will also find an external charging port, this, once again, will allow us to quickly charge a device that is outside the backpack, one of the functions that I have appreciated the most.
Three internal USB charging ports: One located in the battery itself, another in the wide area, and another in the pocket dedicated to the laptop and tablet.
It is TSA certified: This means that it has the approval of the main aviation departments so that you can pass the backpack through the airport scanner without having to remove your electronic products from it.

But the important thing ... what or how much can I store in it?

I had a hard time not getting lost between the perfectly integrated pockets of this backpack, a priori I could say that the backpack includes extra pockets, something that users of this type of load media are used to, the vast majority of brands add pockets to the right and left, compromising the harmony of the backpack, and without making clear what intention they have with each of them. I don't know if it's a plus or minus point, but when using the MOBAG backpack I didn't need indicators to know what the role of each pocket is, and surprisingly, each one is put there for some reason. We are going to enumerate and enunciate what types of storage it has:

We start with one of the most important, the wide area, is the intermediate pocket of the backpack and the one that offers a top loading position. In it we have a lower and back padding, as well as two front mesh pockets that will allow us to store small-size content. There is no shortage of the key ring, the pencil holder and two paper-size pockets in which to insert small cases, diaries or cards. So far so good, nothing that does not offer other types of executive backpacks from other brands.

At the top, between the large storage pocket and the pocket for electronic devices we find a small wallet pocketThis pocket has a clear function, that of storing miscellaneous and cables. There you can easily deposit and extract (it has external access) the change coins when you buy your coffee or subway ticket, as well as the charging cables of all the products you have inside, you will never lose a cable easily, at least that utility will give you I have granted without hesitation. Inside this pocket we will find the first of the USB adapters to charge devices.

On both sides we find two standard size pockets (1 / 2L bottle), with grid (to enlarge the size) and separators. There we will deposit our water bottles, coffee to go or the hand umbrella. Just above one of them we will find the external USB connection, and inside the other, with a trim / cover, the AC / DC connection to charge the battery.

We now go to the pocket where we are going to deposit the products with the highest value probably a pocket with a full opening (up to 180 degrees) where the MOBAG team has worked to create security for us. We find a first padded interior pocket on three sides (front, bottom and back) where we can insert laptops up to 17 inches. Just below another pocket with the same characteristics that will allow us to store our tablet. To ensure maximum support, they have included an elastic velcro strap that will hold the products as much as possible, something that those who have a laptop that works with a mechanical hard disk will appreciate, avoiding wear and tear. Here we are going to find the second of the USB charging ports that are inside the backpack.

Finally, on the front we have a folio size pocket, inside which the backpack battery is properly "hidden". A removable battery that we can charge both inside its dock, and outside the backpack, at our choice. This pocket has the zipper slightly inserted inside the seams, altering the design of the backpack to a minimum, in fact, you will have to look at it to have it. It is from my point of view the most irrelevant pocket of the backpack, but as I said before, it has its reason for being, separating the battery from the rest of its compartments, avoiding heat transmission.

We already know what it consists of, what is our conclusion?

We go there with the conclusion of this review, and that is that we have to be clear about several concepts when recommending or not recommending this product. The first is that unlike other types of products that we have analyzed, this backpack does not even try to democratize a specific sector. The MOBAG backpack is far from the needs of any user, is focused on a broad but specific public, which requires a charging method that provides this type of added value, in fact, they have very correctly agglomerated the strengths of various backpacks on the market in a single backpack, and they have not generated a monster in the attempt, quite the opposite.

This backpack is intended for the public known as digital nomad, which could easily encompass a computer engineering college student, whose reasons have to carry various technological products such as a laptop and not as technological as a briefcase on a daily basis. But at the same time it is focused on the executive and business sectors, that type of workers with intense labor mobility in sectors such as consulting or law, allowing you to move quickly without leaving anything behind and giving you the necessary autonomy to face one or several long working days. job.

If you consider yourself within the action range of this backpack, you are without a doubt the perfect customer of such a product. The thing changes if your load needs are lower, in which case you will find yourself misfit in a product of these characteristics, where you would have the vast majority of its qualities. Personally it has not left my back in the last 15 days.
