Nest increases security to access your cameras and thermostats

Home automation has been with us for a couple of years And the big tech companies are betting big on this. Apple is one of those companies that provides a development kit called homekit, that allows developers to integrate gadgets such as thermostats, cameras, locks, lights… with their «Home» application. There are other companies that «compete» against this system by creating their own applications such as Nest, a company that has three different products: indoor chamber, outdoor chamber and thermostat. Today, Nest has launched security improvements to access the management of these products by adding two-step authentication, to safely control the home automation of our house.

Nest provides more security for your home automation products

The home automation company Nest through a statement has indicated its new issues to improve the security of the application:

Technology continues to advance, but so do people who want to get into their email, credit card, or any other account they can get their hands on. Yet your home is your safe haven, where private information must remain private. So today we are adding a new layer of security with the introduction of two-factor authentication.

Most of you will already know how this works two-step verification: Once you log into your Nest account with your email and password, you will need to have access to a mobile phone with which you have synchronized this security enhancement. It will take a few seconds to confirm that you are the owner of the account, and finally, access the data you need.

Nest has ensured that there is no need to do any configuration in its products since, being connected to Wi-Fi networks, the update is sent to them from the company itself, which has announced that will continue to work on improving the safety of its products, and separate the private information from the public, something that so far they are embroidering.
