Today it is my turn to state the reasons why I believe that do not buy an iPhone 6s if we already have an iPhone 6. Neither Juan nor I have the absolute truth and we only expose our opinion, but I think there is something on which we all agree: To what extent does Apple plan to raise the price of the iPhone? Perhaps the time has come to puncture the bubble they have been inflating for so long.
Reasons not to change the iPhone 6 for the iPhone 6s
Price
Did anyone doubt that this would be the first reason? Barring last minute change, Apple has price raised € 50, but that's only for the 16GB model. If we want a 64GB iPhone it will be € 60 more expensive and if we want the 128GB one, € 70. Not only has the price of the phone gone up, but the increase in storage has also gone up by € 10, from € 100 to € 110 today. Was not the 999 Plus 6GB already good with € 128? What are they: jealousy for the prices that Samsung put on their Galaxy?
In addition, we must remember that we start from the basis that we have an iPhone 6. What is it? need of the iPhone 6s to spend that money?
Camera with smaller pixels
Both Apple and iPhone users have argued that megapixels are not everything. There are other factors that can make an image look better or worse, such as the pixel size. The iPhone 6 camera has 1.5µ pixels and the iPhone 12s 6 megapixel camera has 1.22µ pixels. The larger the pixels, the better the image details will appear. Apple says they have added a new "pointer" sensor that will ensure that photos do not lose quality, but they will not improve it either. In reality, what we will achieve with 12 megapixels will be larger photos.
Are we paying the price of the iPhone 6s for the quality of the photos? Careful with this.
Lower capacity battery
Some time ago I wrote an article asking what you would like the iPhone 6s to include. Most of the comments asked for a higher capacity battery. The first, in the front! Not only is it not older, but it has been reduced by 5% the battery capacity of the iPhone 6 / Plus. The new models arrive with 3D Touch and a taptic engine to provide a physical response to screen touches. All of that will have to move with some energy, right? One of the things that consume the most battery is the screen, both because of the light they emit and because of the touches on the screen. If the 3D Touch has three levels ... scary.
4… what?
The iPhone 6s can record videos in 4K, but we will not be able to appreciate that quality from the device. In addition, these videos will take up a lot of space and the 16GB model could only record, without installing applications or adding any more data, 35 minutes of 4K video. Now it turns out that the fourth generation Apple TV is not compatible with 4K and it is not because they are partially right in ensuring that there is not much to see in 4K, neither content nor televisions. So why do I want him to record in 4K? I will want it in the future, not today.
Price
I've already named this, haven't I? But I think it's the most important thing. We have an iPhone 6. We won't notice the performance. The 3D Touch will be limited at first. The battery is smaller. The photos will be "the same", only smaller. Why change something that works for us? In my work it has always been said "if something works, don't touch it." If something works for you, don't spend the money changing it.
Short-term limited 3D Touch
Has anyone of you used Apple Pay? And the interactive notifications that allow you to respond to a message from the notification (without getting you into the app)? By this I mean that Apple always releases news in some countries or, as in the case of notifications or Touch ID, they take a whole year in allowing developers to use the necessary API. Are we going to spend the money to have shortcuts? With all that money, I already manage what I want to open with each touch. I have always said that the Force Touch, now 3D Touch, is the future of touchscreens, but the future, not the present. We will have to wait a while and better have it on the iPhone 7 than right now.

... or because I don't feel like it. Allow me the expression, but Apple is "freaking out" a bit with prices. They take advantage of the fact that users are happy with their devices, but we have to say enough sometime. Last year, prices were steady; this year, they have risen. Now is a good time to give them a touch of attention and more if we take into account that what they sell us for more than € 700 it costs them just over 200 to manufacture. Apple, slow down a bit.
Anyway. These are the reasons why I think it is not worth it to change the iPhone 6 for the 6s. We have an iPhone that is a year old at most and ages very well.
