SemiRestore now available: restore without losing the jailbreak

semi-restore

SemiRestore is a new program for Windows, Mac and Ubuntu that makes it easier for us to erase iPhone data and fix problems that we have without the need to update to the latest version of iOS and lose the jailbreak.

It comes loaded with controversy since it came out a month ago a similar tweak to use directly from the iPhone and its creator has accused SemiRestore of copying his code, but as I have said on other occasions as users, it is convenient for us that there are several options to be able to do the same. Let's see what exactly SemiRestore does:

SemiRestore is a tool for restore without losing the jailbreak, does not really restore, but delete all information from your iPhone except Cydia, your iPhone remains as if you had restored it but keeping the version of iOS you had and with the jailbreak already made.

Delete all packages from Cydia, repair the permits, repair the activation, repair the problems with iMessage and FaceTime, fix Safe Mode issues related to jailbreak incompatibilities, reinstall Cydia, etc.

SemiRestore can't change your firmware version, neither up nor down, you will always keep it, it does not perform the jailbreak on devices that have not previously done it, if the main file system is corrupted, you will not be able to fix it with SemiRestore either (although this last option would be very rare, it does not usually happen ).

It is a tool to use as last optionIf you have an incompatibility in Cydia, it is best to search for it and delete the conflicting package. If you use it you should know that it takes a long time, that your iPhone restarts several times and that it will seem that it has been frozen, do not touch it, everything is correct, you just have to wait. Anyway tomorrow we will upload a tutorial so you can see how it is used in case you have doubts.

GNZL, do you know anything about the problems that version 1.0 has had? Because according to what I read on twitter, it has done some damage to the people who had afc2add installed but the truth is that I am not very clear about it….

You make a lot of emphasis on "Iphone" you should also mention that this process can be applied in other IOS devices

Well easy. They are not the same website although they belong to the same group, and because the people who write the articles are different

Well, my experience .. With iLEX RAT .. On an iphone 4s .. It does not delete almost anything .. To begin with, it does not delete the repositories nor does it delete almost any system modification .. When I finish doing the process .. It remains as standard .. But I realized that almost everything was installed .. Zephyr .. Multistorey .. Ncsettings .. Winterboard .. Everything I had installed .. Therefore I do not know what this is for .. If what I should do is erase the whole system including photos .. Etc and they were not deleted .. I hope with the semirestore .. If it does.

I used it on the iPad and if I deleted everything from Cydia, the repositories were not deleted, but all the tweaks were. The photos do not know if they were deleted, because I restored a backup before looking.

Is Cydia still working? He asked this because I just carried out the same process but with a Cydia tweak where apparently it did the same thing to delete content, settings and start configuring it as new and keeping the Jailbrrak, however if I delete content setting and start configuring it as new but in Cydia were no longer the packages! And at the beginning it kept asking for the password to unlock.

It does not take 5 minutes, it takes a long time and it turns on and off constantly for a long time, but in the end ... at the end the software process ends, then the iPhone starts with the apple and the status bar underneath, and sooooo another good raaaato ...
