Solve the always-on geolocation issue in iOS 7.1

geolocation iOS 7.1

Although the arrival of iOS 7.1 has brought some positive changes in the general operation and certain bugs have been resolved, the truth is that there are still some pending issues and one of the most critical issues on the web has been the problem of the always-on geolocation in iOS 7.1. If you have updated your iPhone to this new version, you are likely to find that the location icon in the status bar never turns off, whatever we do.

It is true that the developers appreciated advantages that users did not like in terms of the possibility of closed applications worked with location in the background already in the previous betaIt is no less true that this error has little to do with that matter. In fact, the way to solve it is relatively simple, although this is also why Apple has earned the harsh criticism of many iFans who do not understand how a final version can produce such a huge error.

To avoid that the geolocation icon, the one with the arrow in the status bar always remains on, what we have to do is look for the application that gives us problems. Many users with this problem in iOS 7.1 report that there are several apps and the most varied, so that it is a bug of adaptation of the applications is ruled out. In any case, what you have to do to solve always-on geolocation problem in iOS 7.1  is to access through this route the connections with geolocation of the installed tools:

Settings> Privacy> Location

In this section you will find all the applications with permissions to connect in this way. Those that have been granted will appear in green with the symbol of the location of the arrow in black. But there will be one of them that has it purple. Deactivate it to solve the problem, because it is it that causes the icon to never disappear on your iPhone.

People are immediately alarmed. This is not a 7.1 thing. It already happened in previous ones, even with ios 6. It happened to me for example with the google application, and immediately I realized that I had to access this menu to deselect it. In fact, updating to 7.1, at no time did I have the fixed location symbol.

Me with the Moves! now it doesn't stop me from recording the location when I remove it from multitasking, but it stops me from recording the steps. The worst 2,10 euros in history.

But this is not a solution. If I deactivate the geolocation of Foursquare (which is the one that is active) when I open it it does not activate and I have to go to Settings and activate it again for this App. There has to be a way to activate the geolocation when opening the app, and it deactivates when closing it, as it was until now ...
