The new version of Swift would reach version 3.1 during the spring of this coming year and as we can well read, it would already be in development according to some specialized media. The year passes very quickly and soon rumors begin to arrive for the next versions of this version of the programming language that Apple introduced a couple of years ago. Specifically, it is said that the arrival of the first version would be scheduled for mid-January next year and thus have enough time to polish its details until the official presentation of the new version.
As this first leaked rumor seems to indicate, the arrival of this official version will be for the month of May or June 2017. This suggests that during WWDC 17 we will see its official presentation with the improvements in Swift Package Manager, Swift on Linux, in the compiler, in the standard library, and in the core of the programming language itself.
All the news and options available about this open source programming language can be found on Swift's own blog, but it is evident that Apple wants to improve it and that is why it now seems that it would be working on it. The good thing about Swift, according to the majority of programmers who use it, is that it is very easy to use and offers developers what they need to successfully develop applications for iOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, and Linux.
This is undoubtedly news expected by many developers despite the fact that the current version does not show bugs or problems of any kind. Normally the updates for Swift have arrived on time "to their appointment", so we are not surprised that now we have the first leaks of the work with the new version of this Apple's open source programming language.
