2020 iPhones will have in-camera optical stabilization with ultra-wide angle

IPhone 11 Pro camera

Many of you will be launching iPhone, the star smartphone of 2019, and more than one time like Christmas. But yes, in a few months we will have new iPhones with new features, that's the technology ... Now, everything seems to point to the next Cupertino flagship, the new iPhone that we will see at the end of this 2020 that is about to begin, will also have optical stabilization in the camera with ultra wide angle. After the jump we tell you more about these new rumors from Apple.

The guys at Digitimes say it following several leaks from Taiwanese manufacturers. And it seems that the stabilization of this wide angle will be based on the technology Sensor-Shift, technology that brings stabilization to the sensor itself and not to the optics, something that makes things much easier since it allows to stabilize any photographic sensor regardless of the optics it has. This will also improve interaction with external accessories such as external lenses for mobile devices.

According to these rumors, we will continue with two different models, as up to now in the Pro, and both will still have three different cameras although they will have a three-dimensional focus technology, in addition to this stabilization of the ultra wide angle. Regarding suppliers, Largan Precision will be the main lens supplier for iPhone (they will cover 80% of the demand leaving the remaining 20% to Genius Electric Optical), Taiwan-based ALPS will supply stabilizer motors for this new sensor-shift, and Sony will be in charge of the CMOS sensors of these new iPhones. Personally I think that it is not something ultra necessary, worth the redundancy, since not having optical stabilization allows a greater game with external devices such as stabilizers, we will see if they end up applying this sensor-shift technology and how it affects this. Of course, we will have to wait at least until the month of September to find out, so continue enjoying your iPhone 11 ...
