Spotify is changing. We have an event for April 24, we have news, we have rumors ... Everything focused on a radical change of Spotify. Without knowing anything more than that, rumors, of what is to come, if we already have the new design.
As many companies have done in the past, the design has been gradually reaching some chosen. I have been one of them, and I show you everything that has changed in the app.
The highlight of all is the new simplicity of the bottom menu bar. The Spotify app has only three tabs (Home, Search and Your Library). Before, we had five tabs (Home, Explore, Search, Radio, and Your Library). The truth is, I never understood the difference between Home and Explore. There was definitely one of the two left over. The Radio tab also seemed dispensable, since the radio can be accessed from any list, song, artist or album.
The "Explore" tab is like the Netflix home page.. Quite crazy categories, like "To sleep" or "Happiness a play away", along with "Heard recently" or "More like Not the Apple Podcast Playlist"subscribe here).
It is the "Search" tab that has changed the most. Not just because of its commitment, but because of the new look it has. Colors and rectangles in the purest Workflow style, which bring you what was previously in "Explore" in a more unified way. The "Radio", by the way, is also tucked in here along with the Podcasts, the hits, the categories and, basically, everything except your playlists.
"Search" is undoubtedly now the tab Spotify wants you to look at. In it you will find everything and, if you can't find it, that's what the search bar is for. Recall that, possibly, Spotify adds a voice search assistant to this bar.
"Your library" remains unchanged, so the design looks a bit dated for the rest of the app. In addition, where before we had "Playlists", "Artists" and little else, now we have up to eight different sections (although you do not use them and without the possibility of editing them). This means that, even on my iPhone 7 Plus screen, the last things I have heard are very little space.
This design is the one that appears to Spotify Premium customers. If, on the other hand, you have a free account, you will have a fourth tab called "Premium". As you would expect, it is to subscribe to Spotify Premium. In addition, Spotify Free users have new possibilities such as playing certain playlists on demand, as well as new icons showing the lists that are played only in random mode.
Do you already have the new design too?Have you found any other news? Stranger Things mode isn't new to this design, but it's still so cool it's worth remembering.
