Using timers from the Home app on the HomePod will be possible in iOS 14.7

Timer

The first beta version of iOS 14.7 adds several new features including the option to use a timer from the Home application that allows the HomePod to notify us of something we want. In this case we already have an option available to add a timer to the HomePod and that is by doing it through the Siri assistant.

But now the timer that appears in the beta version offers us the possibility to configure several timers manually and add them to our device so that we can simply activate one or the other with a touch. This is a plus in terms of options in something as simple as it can be to program the HomePod to notify us when a time passes and our pizza does not burn. Also if we have several HomePods at home we can individually set these timers to let us know.

Add a timer to HomePod from iPhone or iPad

Adding a timer to the HomePod has been available since the version of iOS 12, users can add a timer out loud via Siri, but now with this new option we can do it directly from the phone or from our iPad.

The image we have in the header of this article clearly shows that the timer is the same as the one we usually have on the iPhone. In this way the user will be able to add even the minutes in a more exact and precise way.

Remember that this novelty belongs to a beta version so in this sense we will have to wait until the final version of iOS 14.7 arrives to be able to use itAt the moment we still do not have the final version of iOS 14.6 so we will have to keep waiting and adding the timer out loud using the HomePod itself through Siri.
