To this day we continue to see apps without Face ID support

It is usually unusual and really most of the large application developers have their apps updated, but not everyone has their homework done two years after the launch of the iPhone X. These were the first to incorporate the great Face ID sensor and most apps received an update shortly after (some the same day the device was launched) but others did not.

This week two apps that I have on my iPhone and that are quite well known and used by many users received support for Face ID for the first time after these two generations since the implementation of the sensor, although it is true that most developers say which is not something complicated to add, some still do not update their apps today.

Obviously this is an issue that may or may not affect all users equally since not all of us use the same apps on our 2018 iPhone or iPad Pro, but it is important that they update as soon as possible to enjoy the advantages of this technology and stop asking for the numeric code or similar to access the apps.

I can say that there are few apps that are not compatible in my case, but I am sure that more than one of those present is in the same situation and this at this point when we have even had the second generation of the sensor in the devices for months. It is not permitted, Do you have an application that does not support Face ID on your iPhone?

    Good morning Jordi,

Just a note: you say that "... for the Face ID after more than two years since the implementation ..." The iPhone X was presented in September 2017, so it has been more or less 1 year and 4 months.

Thank you very much and greetings!!

I do not understand what you want? I mean, implement Face ID in what? If you don't need to do anything to implement it, if it previously served with touch id it works the same with face id without doing any update as such.

From what I understand Apple has been so extremely clumsy to use two different APIs for Touch ID and Face ID, when the logical thing would be to abstract biometric authentication giving exactly the same method behind it, whether fingerprint, facial recognition or whatever. they come up with in the future like an iris scanner or putting the dick on the screen. Apple has never cared and respected developers with these things. By being in a position of power, you can afford these unspeakable bungles.

Well, you are wrong, I am a programmer and if you already have touch id configured, it works the same for the face id, the only thing a developer would have to do is change the icon if he uses a button with an icon to call the function. so I do not understand this post as such, and in that case it would not be apple's fault if not the developers, the same happens with the iPhone X, there are those who do not adapt the apps and it is something so easy to fix.
