Activation errors in iMessage and Facetime on iOS7

imessage-facetime

Some iOS 7 users are having problems with iMessage and FaceTime activation on your newly updated iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. Some of the issues appeared during the initial flurry of updates that were going on at the same time, when it could be officially downloaded. No user wanted to be the last to install the latest iOS redesigned by Apple. But after the storm the calm has arrived, some users continue to have problems activating the iMessage and FaceTime services.

Most of the activation error messages in both cases, for both iMessage and Facetime, are «Waiting for activation»Without the iDevice responding to any other function or« An error occurred during activation. Try again".

En IPad news we are going to try to solve this problem and that the devices in which you have problems can finally be 100% operational. For them you have to follow the steps indicated below:

1.- Confirm that our Apple ID is configured correctly for iMessage and Facetime.

iMessage

  • iMessage. Click on Settings, Messages and iMessage. Click on Send and receive. Here we will check that our Apple ID and phone number (if applicable) is correct. Click on Apple ID to change user if it is not correct to modify it.

FaceTime

  • FaceTime. In Settings, FaceTime checks that the Apple ID is correct, along with the email and email address.

2.- Disconnect both services. Once the changes or their reestablishment in your case have been made, we have to deactivate both services.

  • iMessage. Settings, Messages, press the option to deactivate. We wait a few seconds and activate it again by pressing on the same tab.
  • FaceTime. Settings, FaceTime press the option to deactivate. As with iMessage, we wait a few seconds and activate it again.

3. Reset network settings.

Al reset network settings, you will have to reconfigure all the Wi-Fi networks that you had previously. Access through Settings, General, Reset and select Reset Network Settings.

If the device is locked by code, you must key it in before resetting the settings. After resetting the settings, add the Wi-Fi that you use normally and check that iMessage and FaceTime work. Send an iMessage to someone who also uses the same system (to be sure, when you select the contact it will turn blue, along with the Send button, if both the contact and the button are green, you will not have iMessage).

To find out if FaceTime works try make an audio call before video. Audio calls use less bandwidth than video calls, and we've found that they cause problems similar to the one mentioned in this article.

4.- Restart the iDevice.

Turn off the iDevice and turn it on again. Press and hold the Power button When the Slide to Power Off option appears, turn off the device. To turn it on you just have to hold down the Power button for a few seconds.

Now it's time to check how much iMessage and FaceTime work perfectly. Send an iMessage or make a call through FaceTime. Everything should work perfectly.

It still does not work?

In very particular situations, it can happen. To solve it the best is restore device to factory defaults. In order not to lose any information, the first thing to do is connect it with iTunes and make the backup (it is done automatically every time you connect it). When you already have the backup made, we will access Settings, General and Delete contents and settings. The following message will appear on the iDevice screen: "All data and content will be erased and all settings will be reset." We click on Delete.

After all settings have been reset, iOS 7 will inform you of the steps to follow to activate all services, including iMessage and FaceTime. Once you check that everything works fine, both iMessage and FaceTime it's time to connect it to iTunes again and restore the iDevice with the copy that we had previously made.

Still not working?

The possible that create a new Apple ID it may solve the problem. But taking into account all the options to which it is linked, it is preferable to take it to the technical service, because perhaps it is not a problem of adjustments, but of hardware.

Hello guys, I also had problems with the activation of iMessage and Face Time, so I found the solution in the APPLESFERA forums, the guy named JAVIERDRUMS gives the solution,
“I already managed to solve it. You have to buy a prepaid card and load credit, I'll explain why: The text messages that Claro includes in its plans in Peru do not include messages abroad, only national messages. To activate iMessage and Facetime you need to send an international message (supposedly to London). Once you load the credit, deactivate (if you have activated) imessage and facetime, restart the iPhone. When it is already on, you simply activate it again and it will appear "Waiting for activation ..." but this time in 1 or 2 minutes it will be ready because this time the message was sent. Hope this can help you. Facetime is activated after 1 minute, for iMessage if it takes a little longer. I hope people who have that problem find a solution with this answer. A hug from Lima - Peru "

I did what JAVIERDRUMS indicated and it worked for me, I made my prepaid recharge and the cost only came out about 0.50 cents from here in Lima.
Try it, suddenly for many this is the solution.
