Mark Gurman gives us details on what we will see at WWDC

WWDC 2016

About everything that has to happen in the Apple world there are rumors and rumors. Or rather: in everything related to Apple there are rumors and information provided by Mark Gurman, the young editor who has been talking to us about everything that is to come in the apple world since he was 15 years old and the original iPad. The last thing he tells us is what he thinks will happen in the next WWDC.

I don't know if you knew, but Mark Gurman he has ceased to be editor of 9to5mac and has become part of the staff of a more important publication, more specifically the technology section of Bloomberg. Of everything he told in the last episode From the Jay & Farad Show podcast, there is little that Gurman is fully convinced that we will finally see at WWDC16, a prudence that surprises me in him but I think it may have to do with his new position. Here's what he revealed to us.

There will be no new hardware at WWDC

Much has been speculated about new devices that could arrive at WWDC 2016: first the possibility of presenting the Apple Watch 2 was assessed and this week it was assured that they would present a new monitor with an integrated GPU, but the rumors were soon denied. Being a conference for developers, the normal thing is that Apple focus on iOS / tvOS 10, OS X 10.12 and watchOS 3.0, and that's what Gurman believes.

iOS 10 will see its design change slightly

In 2013, Apple got rid of skeumorphism, that is, the image that mimicked real objects, and introduced a flatter iOS 7, with more visual effects and much more color. iOS 8 and iOS 9 inherited the same design as iOS 7 and iOS 10 will come, according to Gurman, a small twist more. According to the young editor recently hired by Bloomberg, iOS 10 will be even more colorful, which will be noticed in the notifications and in small design changes in the icons.

Dialing for Photos app (Yes!)

Dialing iOS 9

iOS 9 allows us to attach an image and modify it with Dial. That is the name that Apple gives to the Preview image editor that allows us to add arrows, magnifying glasses, signatures, etc, and I will never understand why it was available to edit the images in Mail but we could not do the same in the images of the Reel. A nonsense that could change in the next version of iOS.

What's New in Apple Music

iOS 10 and Apple Music

The medium where Gurman has happened to work was the first to talk about a new version of apple music which will be presented at the next WWDC, but the details (in THIS LINK) were given again by Gurman himself. For example, Connect will start your funeral and you will lose your tab, being only available from the artist pages. It is also said that we will have the lyrics of the songs available without having to install anything. Regarding the latter, I find it curious that this month the agreement between Spotify and Musixmatch was ended due to differences between the two companies. Will Apple have something to do with this break?

Send money with iMessage

If we do not have Apple Pay available in our country, I think we will not be able to use this function, but I comment on it: Gurman believes that from September we will be able to send money using the Apple messaging app. Will we see it in Spain?

Siri as the protagonist: SDK and available on OS X

Siri on Mac

But the most important thing to be presented at WWDC 2016 has a name: Siri. Yes, it has been 5 years since we were introduced to Apple's virtual assistant, but everything indicates that the new version will improve so much that it will take up a significant part of the time. What is perhaps the least important thing they will tell us is that Siri will be available on OS X 10.12 (It will be necessary to see which Mac can install it). On the other hand, Apple will present a SDK that will allow third-party developers to make Siri compatible with their applications, so, for example, we can ask you to send a WhatsApp just as we do to send an SMS / iMessage.

Also, and this is no longer said by Gurman, the new version of Siri could understand more natural language thanks to technology from VocalIQ, a company that Tim Cook and company bought last year to prevent it from becoming an app (or another company getting ahead of them).

What about the iPhone of 2017?

IPhone 8 concept

A recent rumor claimed that Apple would start releasing a redesigned iPhone every 3 years. Gurman believes those words have been misinterpreted and the opposite is more likely, a new design every year. In addition, he says that 2017 will be the year in which Apple presses the "Reset" button for the iPhone, but it is not very clear what this means: very important changes, name change, operating system change ... What could we see next year?

On the other hand, it also ensures that 2017 will be a year in which they will launch great products. According to Gurman, everything looks good, but the bad thing is that we will have to wait a long time to see what he says is to come.

The most frustrating thing of all is that we have been with a permanent Beta of versions on the iPhone all year long and we are only going to enjoy a fluid version for a month (August). In September back to instability and betas. Where is the stability of iOs 6? Why do Macs go smoother over the years and iPhones don't?

I already tell you .. From iOS 9 to 9.3 lageado and thankfully from 9.3 onwards ... It has improved a lot, why was I about to change the iPhone, I think they have changed software developers, it is not logical .. That since iOS 8 goes less smooth than previous versions, if we have more power .. Total optimization is missing in its iOS, even in my iPad Pro I notice that the animations sometimes .. They are rare! What a disaster, but come on Apple cannot afford another iOS like it ... iOS 10 has to be fully optimized, what less ... No?

No, let's see, from what I seemed to understand, and that is what I put, the change will come for example in the notifications. For example, and this is a personal belief, Facebook notifications would appear in blue, WhatsApp in green, Snapchat in yellow, etc. Then he talked about redesigning the icons and there two factors can come into play: that they change the color, which may be a Phone icon more similar to iTunes on Mac and maybe a Teletubbie xDDDDDD sorry for the joke, but I expect everything XD

      A greeting.
